Zeus developed a degenerative nerve disease, which left him paralyzed. Rather than his family taking care of him, they abandoned him to a high-kill shelter to be euthanized as they didn’t want a “defective” dog. Often, it is the disabled dogs that are the first to be put down as not many want to adopt them. But Zeus received the unexpected – he got a second chance.
