This is the story of a little kitten called Mercury. At the tender age of just 4 days old, Mercury was hit by a weed whacker resulting in the tragic loss of his front legs. Since the accident the little fella has had a Facebook page created with over 45,000 fans.
The accident was so major that there was a chance the little guy would need to be put to sleep but the vet decided he was going to save him instead.
Since the vet operated, Mercury has gone from strength to strength with his owners helping him with his development of movement.
They said: ‘Mercury does everything other cats do – he plays with toys, he jumps, plays with other cats and dogs, sleeps on the bed, uses a litter box, and believes he is the king of the world and should be worshiped.’
There is a chance that when he gets a little older, he may need some kind of a wheelchair type device to help support him but he currently doesn’t need this and is a happy camper.
