We all “know” that we are supposed to drink plenty of fluids on a regular basis. What we might not know are the results of the latest research – apparently, the effects of drinking water immediately after getting out of bed do wonders for our bodies.

Ingesting water has been attributed to curing and preventing certain diseases and pains like headaches, body aches, arthritis, heart disease, epilepsy, obesity, tuberculosis meningitis, kidney disease, vomiting, gastritis, diabetes, constipation, uterine disease, ear and throat disease.

Upon waking up, folks are advised to consume, before doing anything else, four 6-ounce glasses of water. Does that sound like a lot? Yes – because it is. Just start with as much as you can at first and increase over time. Afterward, clean your teeth and do what you normally do in the morning. Wait 45 minutes before eating or drinking anything else. When 45 minutes have passed, eat breakfast like normal and then don’t eat or drink anything else for another 2 hours.

Using the above method, the following number of days have been the common time to curb or cure the following conditions: high blood Pressure (30 days); gastric issues (10 days); diabetes (30 days); constipation (10 days); cancer (180 days).

Other than an increased need to urinate, no additional side effects have been noted. Staying hydrated and active are great inhibitors to disease and ailments so we can live better lives.

Taking another glance at liquids, Chinese and Japanese cultures drink hot tea with their meals rather than cold water. Cold liquids cause the oils in foods you have just eaten to solidify and slow down the digestive process. When the solidified oils mix with acid in the stomach, it is absorbed more quickly into the intestinal wall instead of passed through. The long-term build-up of these digested oils may lead to cancer. So maybe there is another idea to ponder when it comes to nutrition and habits.
