5 Things Not to Mention on a First Date

Check out the video below for a bit of a giggle but read on for a serious look at what NOT to say on a date.

You only get one shot at a first date so everything you say and do is extremely important. You definitely have to be yourself. There’s not point in having to trick someone into liking you. But there are something you shouldn’t be talking about straight away;

1. Your ex! Don’t go there. This person is trying to get with you, they don’t care about your ex’s and don’t want to feel like they’re competing for your affection. Even if your saying something bad about your ex, the fact you’re thinking of them is a real turn off.

2. Don’t moan. If your too hot, too cold, too tired, too big for your jeans or whatever, don;t mention it. No one wants to be around a moaner. If they’re taking YOU on a date, be appreciative and don;t complain about it. If you;re really not having fun, go home. But don;t waste someone’s evening by moaning the whole time.

3. Work. You can tell them a bit about what you do, but don’t go into detail about the ins and outs of your day at the office. It’s interesting to you, it’s boring to everyone else. Unless of course you have a super cool job like, astronaut!

4. Talk about other hot girls/guys. I was on a first date once when the guy turned to me and said ‘she’s hot’ about the girl walking past our table. It didn’t take me long to finish my drink and make an excuse to leave. How rude!

5. Money. Don’t tell people what you earn, any debt you’re in or what you want to earn in the future. It’s extremely unattractive talking about personal finances on a first date. You could come across as materialistic or as an unsuitable partner. i.e if you’ve racked up serious debt, most people will stay clear.
