Time To Party: Tequila Is Actually Proven To Help Weight Loss

This may be the most important article you will read all week. According to a recent study, drinking tequila can actually help with weight loss.

It is not only good for weight loss, it can also lower your blood sugar which is great for those suffering from type-2 Diabetes.

The study which was carried out by American Chemical Society explains that agavina, a sugar found in the agav plant used to produce tequila triggers insulin production. In an experiment carried out on mice, the agavina was shown to lower blood sugar an helped overweight mice to lose weight after being given a few drops.

The difference between agavina, and fructose or glucose, is that it is not absorbed by the body, so it will not increase blood glucose.

Before you go grab a bottle and start swigging, do remember that the drink is heavy in alcohol so isn’t too friendly to the liver.

The scientists who conducted this study believe that agavins are a viable light sweetener substitute since, “they are sugars, highly soluble, have a low glycemic index, and a neutral taste, but most important, they are not metabolised by humans.”

Currently there are approximately 26 million Americans suffering from diabetes, with another 2 million getting diagnosed annually.

The sensible and incredible part of the research is that there is a potential for new kinds of sweetness to be developed that lowers sugar levels instead of raising them. This is clearly revolutionary.

Stayed tuned as the study and tests continue to progress.
