The Millionaire Who Sells Potato Peelers on The Street

This is the amazing story of Jo Ades, better known as the “Gentleman Peeler“.

Jo grew up in the UK and from a young age released he had a real passion for selling. He has sold everything from Christmas trees in February to Jewelry and eventually potato peelers from the streets of New York City.

Joe moved to America after following his daughter there when his third marriage broke down. He made a name for himself selling Swiss made potato peelers from the streets of New York City.  Wearing $1000 Chester Barrie suits, Joe would sit and demonstrate how great his peelers are compared to other peelers on the market.

He made so much money from the peelers that he could afford a 3 bed apartment on Park Avenue. He lived the high life but in between would spend 6 days a week on the street doing what he loved best.

Joe died in 2009 only one day after finding out he had been granted citizenship. His daughter has now taken the reigns and continues to sell his famous peelers with great success.

I am so happy to be able to share his story with you. Here Joe is doing what he did best.
