How to Make A Depressed Person Feel Worse by ‘Helping’.

It is so difficult for people to understand a mental health disorder such as depression is they have never actually suffered from it. With the recent news about Robin Williams losing his battle with severe depression, many debates have been sparked.

People are giving their opinions about wether he was right or wrong to do what he did. Could he have just waited it out and come out of the other side? Was it selfish? Is there anything he should have done? Is there anything the people close to him should have done?

Even suffering from depression themselves doesn’t quality anyone to judge Robin William’s choices.

The online comic Robot Hugs has created 2 different comics that show us the same thing; sometimes people who are trying to help can make things worse because they just don’t understand what it’s like to deal with such an overwhelming feeling of dark, dark depression.
